The Port is served by Broad Guage Railway line and is well connected with Southern region of the country through Mangalore. The Konkan Railway linking Mangalore with Mumbai is well connected to the Northern region of the country. The Broad Guage Line between Hassan - Mangalore directly connects the capital city Bangalore and other major places of Karnataka.
To synchronise with the above, the port has added/strengthened 6 lines and illuminated the entire operation area with high mast lights. One line has been extended upto the wharf area | |

The port is connected with 3 Nationals Highways - The National Highway 17 connects to Southern states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry, National Highway 48 directl connects to Silicon City - Bangalore and National Highway 13 Sholapur - Mangalore road. Four-lane work of the the Port connectivity road from Surathkal to BC road is nearing completion
